Research Area

My research interests are in the area of Software Engineering. I am heading the department "Data Engineering". My main interest is applied research (here I am considering empirical methods as one means to do research) in the area of data-driven process improvement, where processes are related to the development of systems of systems and software-based services or products. My previous role was that of a technical project manager. I led several larger projects in the area of embedded software and systems engineering. I am active in the area of empirical/evidence-based Software Engineering (cf. ISERN).

I am involed in several projects funded by, e.g., the German BMBF and the European Commission.
